KIGALI (Bernama): Rwandan residents discovered 100 corpses from the 1994 Rwandan genocide in the capital city Kigali, Xinhua news agency quoted a local official as saying on Tuesday (Sept 24).
Residents started retrieving the unidentified corpses in Nyarugenge district, a suburb of Kigali, since Friday.
They reportedly got information on the grave site from a genocide survivor who lived in the area during the 100-day tragedy, said Stella Mbabazi, an executive secretary of Rwezamenyo, a sector in the district.
Mbabazi urged the genocide perpetrators with information to come out and tell the truth regarding where victims were dumped so that they could be given a fitting burial.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of 1994 genocide that left over one million people dead, mainly ethnic Tutsis. – Bernama
